General FAQ

Where are Bright Nutrition products manufactured?

Bright Nutrition products are manufactured and handled right here in the United States following GMP standards for utmost quality.

Where can I buy Bright Nutrition products?

Bright Nutrition products are available through natural product retailers in Chicago and online.

What types of measure of quality of Bright Nutrition products are used?

Bright Nutrition products are manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). GMP certification means that every aspect of our manufacturing process has been examined, including our laboratory methods and testing for stability and potency and product formulation, and found to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

What are GMP’s, and how do they affect Bright Nutrition’s product quality and safety?

Bright Nutrition is GMP-certified (Good Manufacturing Practices) by the Natural Products Association (NPA), the largest natural products trade association in the United States.

We’ve maintained an ‘A’ compliance rating with NPA, the highest rating possible. Bright Nutrition is also fully compliant with the Food and Drug Administration’s cGMP program.

Both of these GMP programs offer assurance that every aspect of our manufacturing processes has been examined, including laboratory methods, stability testing, product formulation and product potency, and has been found to adhere to the standards established by these regulatory programs.

After I open a product, how long will it retain its labeled potency?

Bright Nutrition products have an expiration date printed on the product. This date assures that, provided the product has been kept at or below room temperature (72 degrees F) and in a dry environment, the product will retain its labeled potency at least to the expiration date.

If there is a freshness packet in the bottle, please leave it in while there is still product in the bottle to protect the contents. Discard the packet and lid before recycling the bottle.

What are the Ageless desiccant, and charcoal packets in dietary supplement bottles?

These packets are used to absorb excess moisture, oxygen or odor within the bottle, and extend the shelf life of the product. Bright Nutrition is one of the very few companies that uses Ageless packets to extend shelf life and protect the product from degradation.

Why are trademark names displayed on Bright Nutrition product labels for some ingredients?

Bright Nurition strives to use only the highest quality ingredients in its products. Trademarked ingredients indicate that proprietary methods are used in their formulation.

These methods generally increase the product’s quality and value to consumers. Trademarked ingredients also tend to have a higher degree of scientific backing than non-trademarked ingredients, since the trademark owners often perform additional standardization and frequently submit their material for use in scientific studies.

Consumers may contact the trademarked ingredient manufacturers for more information.

Where do you obtain the gelatin used in your hard gelatin caps?

It is obtained by the processing of collagen derived from the skin, white connective tissues and bones of beef and pork.

Softgel capsules are typically derived from beef gelatin, and Bright Nutrition also offers some products in Vcaps made from plant cellulose or polysaccharides.

What are GMOs?

GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism. Also referred to as GE (genetically-engineered), genetic modification utilizes gene-splicing to overcome natural laws. Genes from different species are combined to create agricultural products that are more resistant to certain exogenous factors such as herbicides, fungus and pests, or that have other reputed benefits over their natural counterparts. While genetic engineering promises higher crop yields, more research is needed to gauge the true long term impact of these types of products. Because non-GMO ingredients are more natural, we’ll continue to prefer non-GMO ingredients in our products

What is Bright Nutrition’s position on GMOs?

Since 2003 Bright Nutrition has been committed to providing natural products of the highest quality. We firmly believe that natural products are better than synthetic products, which is why we’ve always sought to use organic and non-GMO ingredients whenever possible.

These ingredients are produced using methods that preserve their natural identity and integrity, which we feel better supports our mission of empowering people to lead healthier lives.

Bright Nutrition is working with its suppliers to obtain more non-GMO ingredients. We are committed to offering as many non-GMO products as possible.

What is the “Best By” date that is printed on all Bright Nutrition’s dietary supplements?

The Best By date refers to the date recommended that you use the product by for best physical and/or sensory quality. It is not an expiration date, but rather the date by which Bright Nutrition recommends consumption.

How should I best store my products?

Always refer to the product label first for any special storage conditions. Generally speaking, dietary supplements are foods and should be stored like foods. Cool, dry conditions are best; and refrigeration can extend product life. Hot and/or humid conditions, such as those found in bathrooms and kitchens, may shorten product life.
